Mikael Forselius was born in 1974 in Sundsvall, Sweden.

Mikael Forselius has lived in Røros for many years and works as managing director at Røros Hotel, Vertshuset and Kaffestuggu.

His experience in hotels and restaurants in both Norway and Sweden is extensive and Mikael Forselius is also one of Norway’s most popular course holders and lecturers on food and the culture that surrounds it.

Mikael Forselius has received several prizes including : Trondelag Food Prize, Happy Egg, Young Hotelier in Norway and the Farmers Cooking Scholarship.

He is Trøndelag’s Ambassador for Food and winner of the television series Taste of Norway.

He is a familiar face from a number of other television programmes, and has written a book in Norwegian “Fristelser fra Fjellet”, which was published by Breidablikk in 2009, and a second book in English “Foraging-For the Taste of Roros”, published in 2012 by The Dutch Connection.
