Olivier Hurel was born in 1978. Son of a Pastry Chef, he begins his apprenticeship when he is 16. After a certificate in charcuterie, one in pastry, a complimentary course in chocolate in 1998 and a master’s qualification in 2000, he starts working.

He is hired as Pastry Chef in Paris until 2001. With good basics in the restaurant industry, he becomes the Pastry Chef of the restaurant Les Vapeurs in Deauville.

After this, he participates in the creation and inauguration of the Chocolaterie du Drakkar and it’s museum in Bayeux, as Chef Chocolatier in 2003.

Until 2015, he is the Pastry Chef of Maison Thomasse, and also organises chocolate and macaron masterclasses.

Today, he is Chef Chocolatier at Dupont avec un Thé in Deauville, with Chef Jean-Pierre Etienvre, Meilleur Ouvrier de France.
